Alderman Bob Fioretti of the current 2nd Ward told Alderman Pat Dowell of the current 3rd Ward recently that she has absolutely nothing to be concerned about. He's going to take care of his ward for the time being--even though a chunk of that land will ultimately be her responsibility if the current remap goes forward--and she runs for alderman in the 3rd Ward in 2015.

What Fioretti is talking about is the massive and expensive infrastructure improvement program he has worked hard to deliver to his South Loop constituents. An area that is destined to become Dowell's--and even Will Burns' and Danny Solis' of the 4th and 25th, respectively. Millions of dollars worth of street lights and sewers and such for the area.

"Pat has nothing to worry about," he told me.

I am a resident in the heart of Dearborn Park--an area that will benefit from many of the changes and improvements. He said that although he's worried about the things he's set in motion--like the transformation of the blocks south of Cermak known as Motor Row into the City's new Music Row--he is going to see all things through that he began and is committed to.

"I will make sure it's all carried out," he said.

Come what may.

I am including below the details of the improvements that Fioretti is talking about--the text of which was sent to me by his office:
