More crime in the South Loop
and it's happening right in the house
01/20/2012 2:50 PM
There's more to add to the history of crime in the South Loop.
As the memory of the Green Line/Orange Line elevated track shooting starts to recede, a new vision of big trouble is taking its place. A trio of con men are swirling around the white town homes of Dearborn Park 1--north of Roosevelt, between State and Clark--pretending like they are maintenance staff and asking to check on something inside the home. Like a leak. When they are let in by unsuspecting homeowners, the rats come in and steal small things--keys, credit cards, jewelry, money, small electronics.
Police are spreading the word and it's all over the news. You can read reports here, here, here, here and here.

B: Are you sure these aren't my former clients.... gypsies? They've found a weak link in south Dearborn, but they do travel, and will be gone once the link has been secured.
