Martha Gonzalez, 36, was hit by a car at 18th and Halsted and killed shortly after 5 p.m. on Oct. 13. Friends and family of Gonzalez are raising funds for anyone who offers information leading to the driver, who sped away after the incident. Read more...
Plea references South Loop's biggest vacant parcel

Alonzo "Lou" Monk, once an advisor to indicted ex-governor Rod Blagojevich, discussed the the vacant 62-acre parcel at the southwest corner of Roosevelt and Clark, according to his plea deal. Monk has pleaded guilty.
