A 21-year-old-man was shot Monday evening on the Roosevelt Green and Orange Line el station around 7 p.m., according to police.

Chicago Police News Affairs officer Ron Gaines said the man had a single gunshot wound to the torso at roughly 6:55, and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious to critical condition.

Two people were being questioned in relation to the incident, Gaines said.

CTA spokesman Brian Steele said police requested that power to the tracks around the Roosevelt station be turned off shortly after 7 p.m., halting service. Trains began running again shortly after 7:30, but did not stop at the station.

Train service on the Green and Orange lines was back to normal as of 10:40 p.m. Monday, Steele said.

The shooting was being investigated by Area 3 police detectives, Gaines said.
