The West Loop’s successful Merit School of Music has announced a partnership with the Lyric Opera to improve its vocal program, the school announced in a press conference Monday.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Lyric will work with the school to enhance its vocal program. That’ll include adding a “more intensive opera and music theater track,” the Tribune quoted Lyric soprano and Merit consultant Renee Fleming as saying.
Students enrolled in the vocal program will also get the chance to attend Lyric performances, rehearsals and pre-curtain presentations, the paper reported.
