The University of Illinois at Chicago debuted its new business building last week, showcasing the renovated 24,000-square-foot Douglas Hall.

The school says the building has been equipped with new breakout rooms for small group meetings and mini conference rooms for better collaboration.

One of the centerpieces is a “market training lab,” which will offer a realistic and functional trading floor “similar to what one might find at a professional firm.

The building has been under construction since June 2010, and cost $11.7 million to renovate, according to a UIC press release.
