Work is underway on the Roosevelt Collection’s new plaza in the center of the development, but the complex’s owner, McCaffery Interests, has been mum on who they’re aiming to fill the surrounding retail space.

But as noted Tuesday on the South Loop blog Sloopin, McCaffery has inadvertently leaked a list of businesses they’re talking to — or who have already signed leases.

Roosevelt Collection officials previously said they were aiming to have the complex’s retail stores 75 percent filled by a grand opening ceremony in mid-October.

Chicago Journal found the original document online, in a brochure enticing other potential tenants to come to Roosevelt Collection. Here’s the extensive list of tenants McCaffery is trumpeting:

  • H&M
  • Ulta
  • Ann Taylor
  • Lululemon
  • Aveda
  • Bath & Body Works
  • Anthropologie
  • Sports Authority
  • Lettuce Entertain You
  • The Limited
  • Victoria’s Secret
  • Joseph A. Bank
  • Vapiano
  • White House Black Market
  • ZGallerie
  • Yard House Restaurant
  • Republic of Couture
  • Arhaus

"Last year, Block 37 only opened two store." Last year--the whole year--Block 37 had pending litigation over who really controlled it. No rational credit tenant would sign a lease with that sort of uncertainty hanging over the Landlord. If they only open 2 stores *this* year, then judge them a critical failure. Ditto RC--which hasn't opened anything yet for a very similar reason--ownership uncertainty AND no money for TI.

First, yes they opened the north staircase to theater level from Wells. This, however, should have been done years ago. The closed off access resulted in people living to the north, not knowing of the obscure elevator access, commuting an excessive distance to get to the theater. Also, it would have been nice if they did not completely tear down the center structures. Some could have been modified into a gazebo so that people in the plaza area could be sheltered from rain.

That plaza looks juvenile and hideous. Ugh

I have a hard time that list is for real. If those were done deals, why haven't they been announced. Just call me skeptical.

Not a bad start. Though it's kind of hard to figure out how a big(ger) store like Sports Authority would fit into the spaces they seem to be offering

I hope the Roosevelt Collection owners can add stores like Apple, Carson Pirie Scott (clothes/shoes only), CB2/Crate & Barrel Warehouse. On thing for sure: Roosevelt Collection is doing better than Block 37 when it comes to retail leasing. Last year, Block 37 only opened two store.

Any retail will be good. What they really need to do is build the park on the north side that was promised by the previous owners of Roosevelt Collection and open up access to the collection from the north grand stairway. It makes no sense that it is still fenced off given that the neighborhood is walkable. I, for one, do not own or want a car and would like a way in without having to cut through the parking garage or the resident elevator all the way at the southern end of Wells by Roosevelt
