As a neighborhood newspaper covering the South Loop, I try to take note the existence of any mention of the neighborhood, as well as the other areas we cover.
A South Loop mention comes in the New Yorker magazine's new profile of Mayor Daley, in a paragraph that discusses the Daley family's son Kevin, who was born with spina bifida and died after 33 months:

Eventually, the Daleys left the bungalow where Kevin had been treated and, in 1993, moved to a modern town house in the South Loop, beyond the Daleys' customary political fiefdom. It made front-page news.

The article isn't available online but a summary can be read here.
Written by former Tribune reporter Evan Osnos, the piece is a prime example of what Gapers Block political editor Ramsin Canon calls "Daleyology" (Canon's full take on the story, and how the Daley Administration operates, is here).
Others are sifting through the story as well, critiquing the piece and debating it.
