Cocaine bust in the South Loop

Michael Wright was arrested Wednesday.

Chicago police officers arrested a South Loop man at his home in the 1500 block of S. State on Wednesday, taking around 640 grams of cocaine and drug paraphanelia from the residence.
Michael Wright, age 50, has been charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance.
According to a new release, Wright was a member of a gang called the Gangster Black Souls The police department's Gang Enforcement Unit executed the warrant, which targeted Wright. He was arrested without incident and appeared at a bond hearing yesterday at the criminal courthouse at 26th and California.
The cocaine seized has a street value of more than $80,000. Police also recovered $5,000 in cash.
