UPDATE 3:55 p.m.: CPS cancels classes for Wednesday.

After-school activities for Tuesday and Wednesday have been cancelled, Chicago Public Schools announced Tuesday.

Elementary and high school sports activities have been called off, as well as drivers education and child care, a press release said. Programs run by CPS at Chicago Park District facilities have been cancelled as well.

The release was sent out just before noon on Tuesday. Check back with Chicago Journal and Chicago Public Schools for updates as they become available.
