Third Ward Ald. Pat Dowell is in the thick of debates about CPS's controversial school closings and "turnaround" strategies. Tonight she's hosting a meeting about CPS's plans for Phillips High School. Monday, the education committee will discuss a resolution Dowell co-sponsored that calls for a one-year moratorium on CPS "school closings, consolidations, turnarounds and phase-outs."
