Finally found a grocery list at Jewel
just days after I heard that people leave them

A few days ago I watched a guy on Jimmy Kimmel who collects other people's grocery lists. He said he used to find at least one every time he went to the store, but when people found out he was compiling them in a book called Milk Eggs Vodka, they kept sending him more and more. He was intrigued by odd combinations of food on the lists, little notes to oneself, as well as the "graphics" of the lists--like a particular food being written out really big.
I thought to myself, I don't ever remember finding a grocery list at the store. Not that I go to the store that much anymore. But tonight I went to my Jewel at Roosevelt and Wabash and they were out of carts, so I piled a few things into one of those gray plastic hand baskets. And lo and behold, after paying and after the grocery bagger was done, she handed me a yellow piece of paper that had apparently been on the bottom of the basket, which I hadn't even noticed.
"What's this?" I asked. "It's your list," she said. I politely explained it wasn't mine and handed it back. And then I realized I had finally "found" a list that wasn't mine at the store--just like the grocery list author Bill Keaggy.
And oddly, it said hamburger helper and vodka.

Maybe you could save the grocery lists too, like you do paper clips...I have found a few grocery lists, but I really just like to observe what people have in their carts.
