It is a small world. After all.

Readers: spare me a moment for a little personal musing. A break from the newsier stuff I try to post regularly on this blog.
An e-mail from Flowers Communications, a Loop-based public relations firm caught my eye this morning.
It was sent by Ron Childs, a P.R. man who lives in Printers Row and served for a time on the board of South Loop Neighbors, the community organization.
Ron's note mentioned that Flowers was starting a new blog. And that the firm had appointed a gent named Tony Balasandiran as Flowers' new media specialist.
I know that guy! Tony and I attended high school together.
So, to recount: nearly 12 years after Tony and I graduated from the same high school, I happen to be working for a newspaper that covers, among other neighborhoods, the South Loop.
Ron Childs lives in Printers Row and works in public relations, pitching me stories. Including one about a high school classmate.
Small world.
