One Sixtyblue to reopen in spring 2012 as Asian barbecue
Belly Q to debut at 1400 W. Randolph
01/24/2012 4:47 PM
One Sixtyblue, the recently shuttered restaurant on Randolph Street in the West Loop co-owned by Michael Jordan, announced Tuesday morning that it’ll reopen in spring as an Asian barbecue restaurant.
Dubbed Belly Q, it’ll be masterminded by chef Bill Kim, who also owns Urban Belly and Belly Shack. One Sixtyblue owners Jordan and Cornerstone Restaurant Group are partnering with Kim to run the restaurant.
The space, at 1400 W. Randolph St. on the end of restaurant row, will undergo a major transformation, according to a press release sent by Cornerstone this morning. The interior’s materials will be “chosen for their overlooked beauty,” according to the release.
Belly Q’s menu is still being “refined,” the release said, but was described as “a flavor palette that’s boldly smoky and brightly piquant, with a depth of flavor that sneaks up on you and leaves you wanting more.

I've been to Belly Shack a few times and it's very good. I'm looking forward to seeing how Belly Q turns out.
