West Loop restaurant One Sixtyblue closing this weekend
Michael Jordan-owned restaurant to reopen in spring with new concept

One Sixtyblue, the West Loop restaurant co-owned by Michael Jordan, announced Wednesday evening that they’re closing their doors after this Saturday, Jan. 7.
The restaurant sits at the end of Randolph Street’s now-bustling restaurant row, which it helped pioneer when it opened 14 years ago.
Jordan and his co-owners in the restaurant, Cornerstone Restaurant Group, felt that with Randolph Street reemerging as a major dining hub, it was time for a new concept, and they’re planning to reopen in the spring under a new name.
“They just felt the time was right with the local culinary scene on Randolph changing,” said Deanna Dugo, Cornerstone’s spokeswoman.
In an emailed statement, Cornerstone CEO David Zadikoff thanked One Sixtyblue’s customers.
“One Sixtyblue had an amazing run, and moving on is bittersweet,” Zadikoff said. “We are looking forward to our new chapter and are excited to share our plans for the year ahead.”
Time Out Chicago said rumors of a reconcept for One Sixtyblue had been swirling for years, but were never consummated because Michael Jordan reportedly loved the restaurant too much.
Dugo said Jordan has given the change his blessing, and he’ll still be co-owner of the new restaurant alongside Cornerstone.

I am sad to hear one sixtyblue is closing. I was one of the opening staff. I worked in the kitchen as a sous chef and later chef de cuisine. I worked with Patrick Robertson, the opening chef and Martial Nougier, the second chef. I learned a lot from both of them and from David. David, best wishes in your new endeavour, and maybe you will come see me in Tewksbury!!! I'll take you trout fishin'!!!!
